The Matt Savage Trio is “Celebrating 15 Years” with a jazz concert at Temple Shalom of Newton, Sunday, Jan. 29 at 3 p.m.
Savage, 24, who tickles the ivories and keyboards. has played with the biggest names in jazz including Wynton Marsalis, Chick Corea, the Ellington All Stars, Clark Terry, Jimmy Heath, Joshua Redman, John Pizzarelli and Terri Lynne Carrington.
The Trio consists of bassist John Funkhouser and drummer Steve Silverstein.
Savage, 24, has released 12 albums during his career with “Matt Savage: Piano Voyages” released in October.  The disc, which includes eight originals, was his first solo piano recording since 2000. Savage, a Sudbury native, composed and recorded the score for a full-length documentary film, “Sound of Redemption: The Frank Morgan Story” (2014). A graduate of Manhattan School of Music and Berklee College of Music, Matt balances his professional music career with teaching. He teaches at Community Music Center of Boston and at Applied Behavioral Learning Services, an organization near Boston for children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $10 for students at Tickets are $25 at the door and $20 for students. Temple Shalom is located at 175 Temple St., Newton.
